Autumn Term 2018

 R.E: Year 2 Autumn term RE topics: Beginnings, Signs and Symbols and Preparations .


Cross Curricular topic: War and Peace

We will be looking at World War One and World War Two and talking about what happened.  We will be visiting Eden Camp to learn more about the wars!


This terms topic: Working Scientifically and Materials.

We will be observing, investigating and completing lots of different investigations involving material.


Homework: Homework grids will be sent out with each topic. Please spend some time discussing the homework and /or helping your child with it.

Children should know all Year 1 / 2 Spellings ( Please see the back of this newsletter)

Reading Books – please ensure your child brings home their reading book and reads regularly.

P.E – Monday and Friday (PE kits need to be in school all week)



SATS – Will take place during May 2018. More information will be given at a later date. Please ensure no holidays are booked during this time.

New Curriculum Spelling Lists Years 1 and 2


me_BPK_Royal[1] PE Kits  

Please bring your child’s P.E. kit in at the beginning of each half term and leave it in school. Warm kits will be needed too and suitable outdoor shoes.

me_IMG RE Year 2 take part in Religious Education activities every day. We like to visit the cathedral and love taking part in collective worship activities.
me_multiplicationchart[1] Numeracy We work really hard in our Numeracy lessons. We love using our iPads to help us with rapid recall activities and to help us explain our thinking when solving problems.
me_images[9] Homework Homework gets given out on a Friday and children hand it in the following Friday. We also take our reading books home every night and try to collect 5 stickers a week for a dip in our special box!
