Summer Term 2018

 R.E: We will look at different topics. These are Spread the Word, Rules and Treasures. 

 SATs: The  children in Year 2 will be completing SATs tests during the month of May. The children will be completing 2 x reading papers and 2 x Maths papers, arithmetic and mathematical Reasoning. The children will also be doing different writing genres using a variety of skills. The Sats tests will be completed throughout May, however the writing will be completed throughout May and June. Please do not take any holidays throughout this time. Thank you.


Our school topic is The World Cup. We will be learning about things linked to The World Cup and learning about the countries Russia, Brazil, Sweden, Mexico and Germany. We will be making masks, flags, drawing landmarks of different countries and finding countries on maps.


Our science topic is Living things and their habitats. We will be learning about different living things, life cycles, things that are dead and alive, food chains and the things living things need to survive.

Please bring your child’s P.E. kit in at the beginning of each half term and leave it in school. Warm kits will be needed too and suitable outdoor shoes.

me_IMG RE Year 2 take part in Religious Education activities every day. We like to visit the cathedral and love taking part in collective worship activities.
me_multiplicationchart[1] Numeracy We work really hard in our Numeracy lessons. We love using our iPads to help us with rapid recall activities and to help us explain our thinking when solving problems.
me_images[9] Homework Homework gets given out on a Friday and children hand it in the following Friday. We also take our reading books home every night and try to collect 5 stickers a week for a dip in our special box!
